Accessibility Statement

Silver Streak Senior Services LLC

Our Commitment to Accessibility

Silver Streak Senior Services is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. Because we serve older adults, caregivers, and their families, accessible design is central to our purpose, not an afterthought.

We did not add accessibility to this website after it was built. We designed around it from the first page, and when a design choice and an accessibility requirement have come into conflict, accessibility has won.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform, where reasonably practicable, to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These internationally recognized guidelines help make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive differences.

While we work continuously to identify and address accessibility barriers, some content or features may not yet be fully accessible due to ongoing development, platform limitations, or third-party integrations. We treat accessibility as an ongoing effort and improve as we grow.

What We Have Built Into This Site

These are some of the specific choices we have made. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive, and it grows as the site does.

  • A minimum body text size of 17 pixels across the entire site, larger than the common default, so pages are readable without zooming.
  • A minimum touch target of 44 pixels for buttons, links, and controls, so they remain easy to tap for people with limited dexterity or hand tremor.
  • High-contrast color choices tested against WCAG AA thresholds. Where a color did not pass on a light background, we changed the color rather than the standard.
  • Frequently asked questions and other expandable content are built with native browser disclosure controls, so the answers are present in the page for screen readers and assistive technology whether or not the section is opened.
  • Keyboard-accessible controls throughout, with visible focus indicators, so the site can be used without a mouse.
  • Search and navigation menus follow established accessibility patterns, announcing results and options to screen reader users as they appear.
  • Moving content can be paused. Our provider highlights strip moves slowly, stops when you hover or focus on it, and has a visible pause control, in keeping with WCAG Success Criterion 2.2.2.
  • Motion is reduced automatically for visitors whose devices request it.
  • Drag and swipe controls include a small movement threshold, so an unsteady tap still registers as a tap rather than being lost as a drag.
  • Descriptive text for meaningful images where reasonably practicable.
  • Phone numbers are displayed in a single consistent, readable format throughout the site.
  • Clear, consistent navigation and a layout that adapts to phones, tablets, and computers.
