Who takes care of the caregiver? Almost no one, usually — and that's the problem this category exists to solve. Caregiver support and coaching is built for the family member doing the daily work: help thinking through care decisions, navigating siblings who disagree, managing guilt, setting limits, and staying standing through something that has no clear end date.
Family caregivers give an enormous amount, often while working, often while managing their own health. The toll is real and well-documented — and it doesn't mean you love the person any less. A good coach helps you build a plan that includes you in it.
Support takes many forms here: one-on-one coaching, support groups, respite planning, and practical help coordinating care. Every provider listed has been background-checked. Free help exists too — your local Area Agency on Aging offers caregiver support at no cost, and we'd rather you use it than go without.
Common Questions
What does a caregiver coach actually do?
They help you make care decisions, manage the emotional load, handle family disagreements, set sustainable limits, and build a care plan — so you're not figuring it out alone in a crisis.
Isn't it selfish to spend money on support for me instead of my parent?
No — caregiver burnout leads to worse care and often the caregiver's own health collapse. Supporting yourself is part of caring for them, not a competing expense.
Where can I find free caregiver support?
Your local Area Agency on Aging offers caregiver support at no cost, and many disease-specific nonprofits (Alzheimer's Association and others) run free helplines and groups.
How do I get siblings to help?
A coach or family meeting facilitator can mediate — turning "why am I doing this alone?" into a concrete, divided plan. Sometimes a neutral third party accomplishes what family conversations can't.
